Your neighborhood, Your Meeting Place
Let's take action together! Our BBG Neighborhood Center at Bürgerstraße 9 makes it possible
We invite you to a community gathering place that lives up to the motto: “By neighbors, for neighbors.”
The BBG Neighborhood Center in the Sackringviertel offers versatile spaces where you can cook together, meet with hobby and recreational groups, play video games, get creative, or work up a sweat playing sports on a regular basis.
Everyone is welcome to volunteer here and contribute something that fosters diversity and community. Neighborhood Manager Pavel Simchanka is happy to assist with organization.

Our Neighborhood Manager for the Sackringviertel Pavel Simchanka
Pavel Simchanka has been part of the BBG team since 2023 and brings with him four years of experience as a neighborhood manager in Goslar. His extensive training as a “Certified Neighborhood Developer in the Housing Sector” (Hamburg, 2024) and as a “Volunteer Coordinator” (Berlin, 2025) underscore his expertise and passion for neighborhood work.
In March 2024, the BBG Neighborhood Center in the Sackringviertel opened its doors, and Pavel Simchanka has been a regular presence there ever since. He is the point of contact for all matters related to volunteer work in the neighborhood as well as for using the neighborhood center. There’s already a lot going on in the center’s rooms—it’s a lively place for exchange and connection.
“The center is a go-to place for anyone who wants to get involved in the neighborhood, has questions, or is looking for support. With our programs, we aim to enhance the quality of life here in the neighborhood. Numerous small projects help foster a sense of community and build a strong neighborhood. Many great groups have already formed, and all activities are free and always open to new participants,” explains Pavel Simchanka.
“We’re always happy to welcome new volunteers who want to enrich our programs with their own ideas or support existing projects. Our motto is:
‘By neighbors, for neighbors.’“
