For Safe Roofs—From a Bird’s-Eye View

A faint whirring sound above the house? That might mean our BBG drone is in action! Going forward, we’ll inspect the roofs of our buildings from a bird’s-eye view once a year between April and mid-October.

High-resolution images allow us to detect loose roof tiles, storm damage, or clogged gutters early on—even in hard-to-reach areas. This enables us to plan necessary repairs in a timely manner and ensure greater safety. Our drone is, of course, registered with the Federal Aviation Authority and has a corresponding operator number (e-ID).

What about privacy? That remains protected, of course! The camera is focused exclusively on the roofs. The drone is operated by our building superintendent, Martin Silbermann, who obtained a drone pilot’s license specifically for this purpose. On site, he’s easily recognizable by his high-visibility vest labeled “BBG Drone Pilot.”

Small drone, big benefits: for safe roofs and peace of mind in our BBG community.
