Living in the Schuntersiedlung
There is an impressive park in the immediate vicinity of the Schuntersiedlung: the Bürgergarten am Dowesee. Nine hectares of nature with loungers by the lake, reading chairs in the rose garden, shady walking paths and an adventure playground. A varied program is offered here in the warmer months: Concerts, yoga, readings, nature meditation and much more.

Living close to nature: This is a hallmark of the quietly located neighborhood. The 700 or so BBG apartments are surrounded by greenery. The neighborhood is characterized by an almost village-like atmosphere. Small groups can often be seen standing together chatting or sitting in gardens and courtyards. Regular groups organize social events: from coffee get-togethers and summer festivals to the two-day Christmas market. There are benches and a swap bookcase on the central Tostmannplatz.

A versatile kiosk offers the essentials for daily needs. Supermarkets and a post office are just a few minutes away. The neighborhood also has a driving school, a hairdressing salon, doctors' surgeries, an elementary school and a daycare center. Two sports clubs, the Heinrich Jasper Haus and the Dankeskirche church provide interesting leisure activities. Playing boules or mini golf, pottery, painting watercolors, dancing, making music, building small airplanes, billiards, tennis or darts: the choice is impressive. There is even an attraction for dogs: a nearby dog sports hall with colorful fitness equipment.
