Living in the Weststadt

In the Weststadt district, you can make an impressive impression. In the 240-hectare Westpark, there is a large golden frame in the middle of the landscape - often used for original group photos. The green recreational area on both sides of the Madamenweg offers many other attractions: art along the way, a labyrinth of elephant grass, sports facilities (soccer, basketball, tennis, disc golf, skating, mountain biking), bridle paths, playgrounds, a public barbecue area and ponds. The walking paths also take you quickly to the Millennium Event Center, parties, trade fairs and concerts - and to the Raffteichbad. In summer, the popular outdoor pool with beach volleyball court and beach hosts an open-air stage for two weeks. Up to 8,000 spectators then experience concerts by stars such as Sarah Connor, Scooter, Silbermond, Bushido and Cro.

Sport, culture and community A neighborhood full of life

Lots of greenery, sport, culture and a wide range of opportunities to meet up: this mix is what characterizes the multicultural district with around 23,500 residents. There are parks for walking and relaxing, large sports and shooting clubs, the Rotation children's and youth center, the Kulturpunkt West and three neighborhood clubs. For example, you can play billiards and table football in the neighborhood, use a music room, meet up for concerts, children's cinema and theater performances and cook, paint, play, sew, knit, sing or explore the district on a Nordic walk in small, sociable groups.

There are plenty of discoveries to be made in Weststadt, which is divided into five neighborhoods. As you stroll around, you will see painted garages, a pirate playground, a senior citizens' meeting place with fitness equipment, wooden deckchairs, raised beds and much more.

Weststadt also offers twelve daycare centers and all types of schools, excellent medical care and excellent local amenities. The covered Elbestraße shopping center as well as rows of stores and central supermarkets on the Rheinring and Donauknoten make it possible to go home with full bags. The range of restaurants, bistros and cafés is just as varied.

Diversity and togetherness At home with heart

The BBG manages around 900 apartments in Braunschweig's fifth-largest district - and is also happy to be right in the middle of the regular events, big and small: the Weststadtwoche with activities and discussions, the summer festival in Traunstrasse and the Christmas market. Every year on the third day of Advent in the Elbestraße shopping center, the market brings many neighbors together to enjoy music, drinks and individual gift ideas.
