Here you will find all the important information about the BBG representative election 2026.

Candidacy

Who can stand as a candidate?

All adult, legally competent members of BBG can stand for election - with the exception of members who are already on the Executive Board or Supervisory Board. Previous experience is not required.

How do I apply?

The application period for the 2026 election of representatives ended on 27.02.2026.

You can nominate yourself or be nominated by other members. For a nomination, a written proposal with name, address and the declaration of consent of the proposed person is sufficient.

You can fill out a form here on the website or download the document and send it by e-mail, post or post it to us at Celler Straße 66-69.

You can also send an e-mail stating your name, address, membership number, profession and reason for your candidacy. The e-mail address is: vertreterwahl@baugenossenschaft.de. We also need a photo of you. This can be sent/submitted to us via the above-mentioned channels.

Until when can I apply?

The application deadline for the 2026 representative election was 27.02.2026.

Can I change or withdraw my candidacy at a later date?

Yes, you can correct your details or withdraw your candidacy within the application deadline. Please inform us in writing or via the online form.

Election procedure

How do you vote?

The next election will take place in 2026 - secret and secure. You decide whether you want to vote by post or conveniently online. Both methods are equally valid.

How exactly does hybrid voting work?

You will receive voting documents with a ballot paper for postal voting and a personal access code for online voting. You can either return the ballot paper by post or vote online via the secure voting platform.

How are the votes counted?

The votes from postal and online voting are recorded separately, counted twice and combined at the end. All steps are encrypted, logged and independently verified.

Can I change my vote retrospectively?

No. Once a vote has been cast, it can no longer be changed for reasons of security and traceability.

What happens if I lose my voting documents?

No problem. You can request replacement documents from the BBG service office.

What are my duties as an elected representative?

They take part in the annual representatives' meeting, can submit motions, ask questions and vote on key issues such as the annual financial statements, amendments to the articles of association or construction projects. There are also optional information and discussion rounds.

How much time do I need to allow?

The focus is on the large representatives' meeting once a year. If you are interested, you can take part in other meetings or information events. Volunteering is easy to combine with work, family and everyday life.

Is there any remuneration?

The office is honorary.

Security & data protection

How secure is online voting?

Very secure. Authentication and voting are strictly separated, all data is transmitted in encrypted form and the systems are independently audited. Double votes are ruled out.

How is data protection guaranteed?

All personal data will only be used to conduct the election and will be protected in accordance with legal requirements.
